Shaun Landry is our guest of honor on Episode 1 of Season 4. Shaun got started early in life and early in improv in the mid-1980s in Chicago – first with Geese Theater Company, and then with the Underground Theatre Conspiracy, Second City Chicago Tour Company and Children’s Theater, and others. In 1994, she was part of the founding, and remains the Artistic Director of, the sketch group, Oui Be Negroes. Although that would be a heck of a resume if we stopped, she also founded The West Coast Improv Alliance, produced the The San Francisco Improv Festival and continues as one half of the duo, Landry & Summers, with her husband, Hans Summers, performs her one woman show, FLake, performs with The Seniors Improv Comedy at The Pack Theater L.A.
When the world is open, Shaun is traveling throughout it leading workshops and performing – and has been doing that actively online as well. She has participated in festivals such as The Kansas City, Big Stinkin Improv Austin, The Funny Women’s New York, Miami, Hawaii, Duofest Philadelphia, Improv Festival, Oberlin College, Chicago, Amsterdam, Seoul and Tokyo Improv Festivals BATS Improv Comedy Festivals and has taught at universities including Stanford, Oberlin and Northwestern.
